Carl Bickler qualified from Edinburgh University in 1980 and became a full time principle at Craigmillar Medical Group in 1985. He has always had an interest in the health inequalities agenda, and developed areas of expertise reflecting this. In the clinical field the practice developed skills in managing drug users and managing HIV infected patients. The practice have further developed innovate ways of addressing the needs of the practice population. Carl was a member of Lothian Health Inequalities Subcommittee, and is at present member of the Primary Care Trust inequalities Steering Group. Carl works two sessions per week on South East Edinburgh LHCC management committee. He has a wife and two children, and a life.........

John Budd , DIG worker. Currently part-time GP at Muirhouse Medical Group. Previously worked in rural South Africa as community and hospital doctor. Particular areas of interest include community-based health care, having carried out research in Tanzania looking at different primary health care models, and Hepatitis C in General Practice.

Dr Phil Donnelly graduated from Glasgow University. Previously a "mainstream" GP principal in Edinburgh , Phil was a GP retainer scheme for four years and now works as lead clinical with Edinburgh Homeless Practice (EHP) and was heath inequalities facilitator with the Deprivation Interest Group. Phil is also course organizer for two one-day postgraduate education days at the lister Postgraduate Institute.
